Bond Family Portrait

Did a wonderful family portrait on Saturday.  This was our second scheduled shoot, the first I had to cancel because my granddaughter got STREP throat and I didn't want to pass it on if I had it.  I was happy to learn it missed me.  Really, who would want to give this beautiful little lady a sore throat?  MatchStick Photography is about about family portraits but not sharing sickness.  Some kids don't like strangers but, I have 3 granddaughters so it's easy for me to warm them up...she was great for as long as it took :-)  Beautiful family photographs in Gasport NY.

Nate...the cool kid of the house!  He had fun I think?  He kept looking at himself in the mirror so I think he thought he looked pretty good.....His cousin was there to lend support, it's great to have a cousin around when your getting your picture taken by MatchStick Photography..  Maybe one day I'll be his wedding photographer?

Ahhh...the quiet one..Shhhhh he's sleeping and god knows you don't want to wake a sleeping baby (I did). Newborn photography is always fun for MatchStick Photography.  Handsome young man.

Now you know where the kids get their looks from!

It was a great two hours....yes two hours...they have 107 photos of different moments and expressions from each of their children...memories they will cherish for a life time. Family portraits provide you with some great photographs.  I will come to you...your home/park/yard/town or pretty much anywhere.

Being a WNY/Central Florida wedding photographer also allows me to shoot family portraits....all my previous clients have kids, who else would they call?

It's always a good day when things don't work out the way they should and then you find the needle in the hay stack.  Just by looking around me, I was able to see those things that create a story.  Although it's cold and we get a bit of snow here in WNY we can create some great photographs with what we have.  

 

 

 

 

Even as a Buffalo, WNY and Central Florida wedding photographer I enjoy just picking up my camera and getting lost.  This is the small boat harbor in Buffalo, NY with ice fishermen on the lake.
The air planes are at the air park in Lancaster NY where the day before they received about 12" of snow.

Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens

A couple of days ago I went to the Buffalo Botanical Gardens for Tripod Night.  It's called Night Lights and started January 30th, during this event they allow photographers one night to come in with their Tripod(s) to take some photographs without bothering the general public.  I called a friend of mine (Raymond Swan) who is a great photographer and we set out to create some awesome photographs .

I think we were both surprised by the amount of people who were there, photographers, professional and novice and just some who wanted to take some photos.  It created a very nice canvas for using skills, knowledge and a weapon of choice (mine being the Nikon D-800).  The night was successful for Ray and I and others as well as the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens which  (by the way) is the most important point.

If you have never been to the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens located in South Buffalo, I suggest you go there.  I take my wedding clients there as well as my family portraits  and engagement sessions, plus from time to time just to take photos of the gardens.
